Custom Finishes

Finish is Where the Piece Becomes Itself.

Finishing is never an afterthought. Our custom patinas are developed in-house, allowing us to create unique finishes tailored to each project. Each finish is refined through custom samples and client collaboration before final production.

A Finish Library Built One Project at a Time.

We keep a growing archive of tested finishes, each with the recipe, timing, and substrate notes needed to reproduce it years later. Nothing is left to chance on site.

Patina & Finish Disclaimer

The beauty of custom metal patinas and finishes lies in their unique and evolving nature. These finishes can be applied to a wide range of architectural elements, including doors, handrails, fireplace surrounds, staircases, wall panels, and other custom metalwork applications.

Every finish is individually developed, making natural variations in color, texture, sheen, and pattern an expected part of the process. While PetriCore carefully develops and matches approved finish samples, the final appearance may vary slightly from those samples. Variations may become more noticeable across larger surfaces due to the natural characteristics of handcrafted finishes and the underlying material.

Many patinas continue to develop over time as they interact with their environment. Exposure to sunlight, moisture, humidity, chlorine, de-icing salts, cleaning products, and other environmental conditions may gradually alter the finish. Areas that receive frequent handling may also develop a natural polish as they are touched over time.

In addition, different metal alloys, material batches, fabrication methods, and surface preparation techniques can influence the final color and aging characteristics of each finish.

These variations are not defects, but rather an inherent characteristic of authentic architectural metal finishes. They contribute to the individuality, depth, and lasting character of every custom piece produced by PetriCore.
